About the Journal
|
The Journal of Digital Infrastructure and Systems (JDIS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research on the foundational architectures, hardware-software integrations, and networking frameworks that power the modern digital economy. Positioned as a premier scholarly forum for advancing the backbone of global information technology, the journal serves computer scientists, network architects, systems engineers, cybersecurity experts, and IT policymakers worldwide. JDIS prioritizes high-impact empirical research, systems design evaluations, computational performance analyses, and deep technical reviews of enterprise and public IT infrastructure. By synthesizing foundational principles of computer science, telecommunications, and distributed computing with contemporary paradigms of edge/cloud architecture, zero-trust security, and green IT, the journal fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of how robust, scalable, and secure digital infrastructures can be engineered to support next-generation technological ecosystems.
Scope and Topics
Reflecting its mandate to advance the integrated study of digital foundations and complex systems, the journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, systematic literature reviews, architectural case studies, and applied technical evaluations within the following thematic areas:
Cloud, Edge & Distributed Computing: Cloud-native architectures, virtualization, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes/Docker), and microservices; fog and edge computing for ultra-low latency applications; and distributed systems optimization and load balancing.
Network Infrastructure & Telecommunications: Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV); 5G/6G mobile networks, optical communications, and wireless sensor networks (WSN); and broadband infrastructure for bridging the digital divide.
Cybersecurity, Privacy & Infrastructure Resilience: Zero-trust network architectures, cryptography, and blockchain for infrastructure integrity; intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS); and disaster recovery, fault tolerance, and cyber-physical threat mitigation.
Data Center Engineering & Sustainable IT: High-Performance Computing (HPC) and enterprise server architectures; green computing, energy-efficient cooling systems, and carbon-neutral data center operations; and massive-scale data storage and retrieval systems.
Internet of Things (IoT) & Cyber-Physical Systems: Architectural frameworks for industrial IoT (IIoT) and smart city deployments; integration of operational technology (OT) with IT systems; and autonomous systems telemetry and real-time data streaming infrastructures.
Publication Frequency
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and the rapid dissemination of critical IT and systems research, JDIS is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on emerging paradigms—such as the integration of AI in network orchestration, post-quantum cryptographic infrastructure, or sustainable green data centers—may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.
Peer Review Process
JDIS enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, analytical objectivity, and empirical validity across all computer science and systems engineering disciplines.
The mission of the Journal of Digital Infrastructure and Systems (JDIS) is to advance global computing scholarship by publishing rigorous, evidence-based research that strengthens the technological foundations of the modern world. Grounded in the philosophy that the unprecedented demands of the digital age require infrastructure that is not only highly performant and scalable but also fundamentally secure and ecologically sustainable, the journal aims to democratize IT systems research by providing an unrestricted platform for global academic, industrial, and practitioner dialogue. Through the promotion of diverse, rigorous experimental, computational, and architectural methodologies, JDIS seeks to empower systems engineers, inspire network innovators, and shape resilient, intelligent, and future-proof digital infrastructures worldwide.
