The TerraLink Engineering Journal (TLEJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research at the nexus of civil infrastructure, geotechnical engineering, transportation networks, and geospatial connectivity. Positioned as a premier scholarly forum for advancing the physical and digital systems that connect our terrestrial environments, the journal serves civil and structural engineers, urban planners, geotechnical specialists, transportation researchers, and earth scientists worldwide. TLEJ prioritizes high-impact empirical studies, structural and material testing, computational modeling of geological systems, and in-depth evaluations of large-scale infrastructure projects. By synthesizing foundational principles of earth sciences and structural mechanics with contemporary paradigms of smart mobility, sustainable urban development, and resilient engineering, the journal fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of how innovative terrestrial infrastructure can safely and sustainably connect global communities.

Scope and Topics
Reflecting its mandate to advance the integrated study of earth-based infrastructure and connectivity, the journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, systematic literature reviews, computational modeling studies, and applied engineering case studies within the following thematic areas:

  • Geotechnical & Foundation Engineering: Soil and rock mechanics; deep foundations and earth retaining structures; tunneling and underground space technology; and slope stability, landslide mitigation, and seismic vulnerability assessments.
  • Transportation Infrastructure & Highway Engineering: Design and performance of pavements and railway tracks; traffic engineering and intelligent transportation systems (ITS); bridge engineering and aerodynamics; and sustainable mobility networks.
  • Structural Engineering & Advanced Materials: Analysis and design of resilient steel, concrete, and composite structures; earthquake and wind engineering; structural health monitoring (SHM); and the development of eco-friendly and smart construction materials.
  • Geospatial Engineering & Surveying Technologies: Applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and remote sensing (LiDAR, InSAR, UAV photogrammetry) in infrastructure planning, topographical mapping, and geological surveying.
  • Sustainable Urban Planning & Environmental Infrastructure: Green civil infrastructure; stormwater management and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS); environmental impact assessments of large-scale construction; and the integration of built environments with natural topographies.

Publication Frequency
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and the timely dissemination of civil and terrestrial engineering advancements, TLEJ is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on grand engineering challenges—such as climate-resilient coastal infrastructure, advancements in high-speed rail networks, or AI in structural health monitoring—may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process
TLEJ enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, analytical objectivity, and empirical validity across all civil, geotechnical, and transportation engineering disciplines.

Mission Statement

The mission of the TerraLink Engineering Journal (TLEJ) is to advance global civil and geotechnical engineering scholarship by publishing rigorous, evidence-based research that bridges the gap between the natural earth and human-built environments. Grounded in the philosophy that modern infrastructure must not only create seamless, efficient connections but also respect and adapt to the geological realities of our planet, the journal aims to democratize engineering knowledge by providing an unrestricted platform for global academic, industrial, and practitioner dialogue. Through the promotion of diverse, rigorous experimental, computational, and design-based methodologies, TLEJ seeks to empower civil engineers, inspire infrastructure innovators, and shape resilient, sustainable, and highly connected terrestrial landscapes worldwide.
